Our boards are 80% FSC-certified pine wood, which dramatically reduces that risk. The remaining 20% is a food-grade resin (certified free from formaldehyde), which as a polymer can technically shed some microplastics - but far less than a conventional plastic board. These boards are fully dishwasher safe. If you prefer hand washing, warm soapy water works great. Either way, always dry upright before storing to prevent any moisture buildup. Wash before first use.
There are three sizes to choose from: Small (23.5 x 30cm), Medium (27.5 x 37cm) and Large (32.5 x 44cm) and all just 6mm thick. Small is great for herbs and quick prep, Medium handles most everyday cooking, and Large gives you room for big cuts and batch cooking.
Yes, the pine wood used in our boards is FSC-certified, meaning it comes from responsibly managed forests. It's one of the reasons we chose this material - a lower plastic footprint, sustainably sourced timber, and a board built to last rather than end up in landfill.
This is completely normal and nothing to worry about. The Eucalyptus board is made with a black core and a green surface layer - both the same durable mix of 80% pine wood and 20% resin. As you use the board over time, scratches may reveal that black core beneath. It doesn't affect the board's strength, safety, or performance.
